Dr. Daniel H Williams

 

  Did you know? Dr. Daniel H. Williams (1856-1931) was a surgeon who preformed the first successful open-heart surgery in the U.S. in 1893. Williams also founded Provident Hospital in Chicago, the first black owned and operated hospital in America.
